The anticipated TV series Anxious People, based on Fredrik Backman’s bestselling novel of the same name, had its premiere today.
Anxious People is an unreasonably riotous comedy about a hostage drama during an open house. A failed bank robber locks themselves in with an over-enthusiastic real estate agent, two bitter IKEA-addicts, a pregnant woman, a suicidal multi-millionaire and a damn rabbit.
All episodes are available to watch on Netflix now.
Do you know someone who hangs out in front of the screen a little too much? Perhaps they always choose the screen over some other fun activity. Maybe you have a little too much screen time yourself?
When the smartphones ended up in each and every pocket, we suddenly gained access to a fantastic world of possibilities, just the push of a button away. But what does hours and hours of screen time really do to our own and – perhaps most importantly – our children and adolescents’ brains?
In Insta-Brain Junior, you will learn to avoid the pitfalls of allowing the smart gadgets to take control of you and your life. You simply have to make sure to do other things as well! The book is based on (partially updated) facts out of Anders Hansen’s bestselling book Insta-brain from 2019, but modified into a completely new edition for the younger readers.

When Norwegian book publication Bok365 list the best children’s books of the year, they feature David Sundin’s The Book That Did Not Want To Be Read at the top.
Critic Nora Steenberg gives the book 6 out of 6 stars and says:
“A book that is reluctant to be read offers one of the greatest reader’s experiences for children this fall. This book, only 40 pages long, was the most sold children’s book in Sweden last year. It was also named “Book of the Year” by the Swedish book retailers. Despite its sparse plot, this is one of the funniest children books on the market right now.”

The critics at Norwegian book publication Bok365 have each chosen their favorite titles of 2021. Lina Wolff’s Carnality and Liza Marklund’s The Polar Circle are two of the selected works on the list.
Critc Leif Gjerstad gives Carnality 6 out of 6 stars and says:
“This burlesque expanding story is a gem! Sudden throws, incredible imagination and captivating storytelling joy about love, power and desire were some of the ingredients that made The Polyglot Lovers such an excellent read. These same elements ensure that Carnality – the title alludes to a reality show with the same name on the dark web – offers a fascinating journey on many levels.”
Gjerstad gives The Polar Circle 5 out 6 stars with the following praise:
“The first volume in a promising trilogy. A macabre discovery brings an old case to life when Liza Marklund turns her eyes to her home village in Norrbotten. With a sensitive pen, it depicts the teenagers’ vulnerable insecurity and search for identity, while Liza Marklund also skillfully manages to balance portrayals of women and depictions of teenagers with the progress of the murder investigation and the gradually and subtly increasing levels of excitement.”
The November bestseller list for children’s books in Norway sees Jørn Lier Horst claim three of the top five spots with his latest titles from the Detective Agency No. 2 universe. The official Finnish bestseller list for the month of November is out. The list for hardcover fiction sees Jo Nesbø’s Rat Island and Other Stories listed as No. 2 for the second consecutive month, while Liza Marklund’s The Polar Circle climbs to No. 3.

Nordic Noir at its best – tough, fast-paced and with an ice-cold plot in the middle of the summer heat.

I loved The Isle of a Thousand Stars because it reached a deep, hidden part of my soul – a place where emotions need no name. /…/ As for a seventh-grader like me, The Isle of a Thousand Stars may simply be the saddest yet most beautiful dream I’ve ever experienced.

Johana Gustawsson and the Norwegian Thomas Enger form a unique duo, delivering a successful thriller where the city of Oslo isn’t there for exoticism, but becomes, as the pages turn, a character in its own right—cold, silent, and terribly human.
