Agnes Ravatn (b. 1983) made her debut with the novel Week 53 in 2007, followed by three critically acclaimed and award-winning essay collections: Standing still (2011), Popular Reading (2011) and Operation self-discipline (2014). Her award-winning novel The Bird Tribunal (2013), became an international bestseller, was translated into seventeen languages, and made into a successful play. Storm Watch is No. 2 on the official monthly bestseller list for April in Norway. The title is the first installment in Kristina Ohlsson’s series about August Strindberg.

Jo Nesbø’s Killing Moon debuts at No. 4 on the Suspense list in the Netherlands. Killing Moon is the thirteenth Harry Hole novel.

May 8 will see the premiere of the second season of Top Dog, which is freely based on Swedish author Jens Lapidus’s bestselling books The VIP Room, Stockholm Delete and Top Dog.

Hans Jörnlind, Charlotte Lesche and Axel Stjärne are the writers of season 2, with Alexis Almström and Ahmed Abdullahi directing.

Viaplay has unveiled the trailer for the upcoming comedy slasher series Ingen ängel, created by EliSophie André and directed by Tuna Özer.

Angelina (Yussra El Abdouni) is like any other 17-year-old girl. She parties, smokes, hangs out with her best friend Fanny (Felicia Sjöström Nilsson) and with boring guys to pass the time. Just a tiny problem; Angelina is a serial killer. Even though she tries not to be.

Ingen ängel will premiere May 11 on Viaplay.

Filmlance International has acquired the adaptation rights to Katarina Ekstedt and Anna Winberg Sääf’s psychological thriller NORD, to turn it into a drama series, produced by Karl Fredrik Ulfung and Tomas Michaelsson. Award-winning screenwriter Johanne Algren (Holiday, Kamikaze, Copenhagen Cowboys) will write the script.

NORD is a captivating psychological thriller that delves into the dark underbelly of the fine dining scene. After a fateful teenage accident, Alex finds himself alone, unemployed and with his self-esteem at rock bottom. When he receives an offer that seems too good to be true, he doesn’t hesitate for a second. It’s a coveted job as Commis de Cuisine, kitchen assistant, at the world-famous star restaurant NORD in Åre. But it’s not long before the work in the restaurant kitchen is replaced by a web of lies, sex and threats.

The Swedish booksellers’ association has announced a list of the most sold books of 2023 so far, and Jo Nesbø’s Killing Moon takes the No. 1 spot in the fiction category and comes in at No. 2 across all titles, just behind Sveriges Rikes Lag 2023 (Swedish Code of Statutes).
