Anders Baasmo and ‘A Better Man’ win at the Gullruten Awards
Actor Anders Baasmo has won the award for Best Leading Actor at this year’s Gullruten Awards for his acclaimed performance in A Better Man (Ølhunden Berit).
The series also took home the award for Best Drama Series, and the creator Thomas Torjussen was honored with awards for both Best Directing and Best Screenplay.
Kristina Ohlsson’s debut in literary fiction, Beyond the Bridges, rockets to No. 1 on the official bestseller list this week. Anne Holt’s Diamonds and Rust, the thirteenth Hanne Wilhelmsen novel, also jumps the list, to No. 5.

Prime Video’s new crime drama ‘Bishop’ announces cast
It was previously announced that Joel Kinnaman will lead Bishop in the title role, and the series has now revealed additional cast members joining the production.
In Bishop, homicide detective Bishop Graves (Joel Kinnaman), brilliant and battle-scarred, puts all of his skills to the test in the hunt for an elusive killer targeting San Francisco’s moneyed class.
The main cast also includes Jennifer Jason Leigh, John Malkovich, Jordana Brewster and Erik Svedberg-Zelman.
Thomas Enger & Johana Gustawsson’s SON is nominated for the 2026 Book of the Year Award in Sweden. The first installment in the Kari Voss series has been selected amongst all Swedish and translated fiction published in the past year. The jury had the following to say about SON: “A spine-tingling crime novel with an astonishing plot. /…/ A breathtaking page-turner with many shocking twists.”
The criteria for nominations to this high-profile award further includes superb linguistic quality, a grand reader’s experience that is relevant for and appeals to a wide reader demographic, and a story well-executed when it comes to plot, characters and milieus.

Anders Hansen and Kristina Ohlsson on the Swedish bestseller lists
Anders Hansen and Kristina Ohlsson both debut on the official Swedish bestseller lists this week. Hansen is No. 2 in non-fiction with The Achilles Heels of Your Brain, while Ohlsson claims the No. 5 spot on the fiction list with Beyond the Bridges, her debut in literary fiction.
The new Swedish drama series Golden Boys will premiere on TV4 Play Plus on May 1 and has already been met with rave reviews.
The four-part miniseries is a fast-paced heist drama inspired by the Trustor affair, one of Sweden’s most infamous financial scandals.
The series stars Erik Svedberg-Zelman, Adam Lundgren, Viktor Björkberg, and Jonas Karlsson. It is directed by Ivica Zubak, with Erik Hultkvist serving as head writer.
Lars Kepler’s The Sailor jumps straight to the top of the official Czech bestseller list for fiction titles. The Sailor is a stand-alone collection of short stories.
Jørn Lier Horst’s The Last Case rockets to No. 2 on the Slovakian bestseller list. The Last Case is the eighteenth and latest installment in the William Wisting series.
