The nominees for this year’s Adlibris Awards in Finland have been announced. A jury of Adlibris employees has selected five contenders in each of seven categories, based on sales, popularity, and potential.

Satu Rämö’s Dísa has been shortlisted for Best Crime Novel of the Year, while Lars Kepler’s Medusa is nominated in the Translated Fiction of the Year category.

Winners will be decided by a public vote and will be announced in February 2027.

The jury for the 2026 Petrona Award has just revealed the shortlist for the ‘Best Scandinavian Crime Novel of the Year.’ Among the six nominees are Satu Rämö’s The Grave in the Ice and Antti Tuomainen’s The Winter Job.

The Judges have the following to say about each title:

“In a genre typically dominated by male leads, characters like Hildur flip the traditional detective-and-victim dynamic on its head, subverting conventional gender roles and expectations. These well-developed characters, combined with a fresh storyline, ensure The Grave in the Ice is a solid police procedural with genuine depth.”

“With an impressively precise control, The Winter Job combines humour in the narrative, with a harmonic balance between the dark, the absurd and the slightly slapstick, but never at the expense of the plot and characterisation.”

The winning title will be announced on 22 October 2026.

Satu Rämö’s The Shadow of the Northern Lights, the third installment in the bestselling Hildur series, is No. 1 on the official Icelandic bestseller list for the month of August.

The Petrona Award’s jury has just presented its longlist for the 2026 Petrona Award for ‘Best Scandinavian Crime Novel of the Year.’

Among the 12 nominees are Jo Nesbø’s Wolf Hour, Satu Rämö’s The Grave in the Ice, Aslak Nore with The Heirs of the Arctic, Yrsa Sigur∂ardóttir’s The Wake, Antti Tuomainen’s The Winter Job, and Lilja Sigur∂ardóttir with Black as Death.

The shortlist will be announced on September 24, 2026. 

Satu Rämö’s The Shadow of the Northern Lights, the third installment in the bestselling Hildur series, remains at No. 1 on Icelandic book retailer Eymundsson’s bestseller list across all formats, as well as at No. 1 in the paperback category. This marks the book’s fourth week at the top. Lisa Ridzén’s lauded debut When the Cranes Fly South follows closely behind at No. 2 on the paperback list, and No. 4 across all formats.

Finnish author Satu Rämö (b. 1980) moved to Iceland twenty years ago and has since become one of Finland’s most successful authors.
