Lars Kepler’s seventh Joona Linna book, Lazarus, once again claims the No. 1 spot on the bestseller list for e-books in Norway. It’s followed by Jørn Lier Horst’s The Innermost Room coming in at No. 3. Both novels similarly feature on the hardcover list, where Lazarus and The Innermost Room nab the No. 4 and No. 5 spots respectively.

CBS All Access has announced a straight-to-series order for Interrogation, an original true crime series wherein the viewer becomes the detective. The creators of the series, Anders Weidemann and John Mankiewicz (House of Cards, Bosch), will serve as executive producers alongside Fabrik Entertainment’s Henrik Bastin and Melissa Aouate.

Interrogation is based on the true story of a young man charged with and convicted of the brutal murder of his mother. Each episode of the series is structured around an interrogation from the actual police case files. The first nine episodes of the series will be able to be viewed in any order, allowing the audience to choose their own line of inquiry as they immerse themselves in the case. The season finale will be released at a later date.

“This non-linear approach to storytelling is that much closer to how real detectives work, carving a path through the evidence in search of the truth,” says Weidemann, who is making his mark on television history not only with this new format, but as the first Swedish screenwriter to write and produce an American TV series based on his own original idea.

The feature films Hunters and Hunters 2 (1996, 2002), about the policeman Erik Bäckström, have become modern Swedish classics. The new TV-series of the same title will return to the universe of the films and premieres on C More November 14th. It will be broadcasted on the Swedish network TV4 next year.

In Hunters, the headstrong policeman Erik Bäckström, once again portrayed by Rolf Lassgård, leaves Stockholm behind to return to his hometown in the north of Sweden – this time for good. The six-episode series is written by Björn Carlström and Stefan Thunberg and directed by Jens Jonsson.

The much-awaited series has already received wonderful reviews in Swedish press, with newspaper Expressen calling it “Grandiose, modern and exciting.” Norrländska Socialdemokraten’s review is equally positive: “It’s stylish. It’s thrilling. It’s believable. It feels fresh.”
