The second season of Paramount+’s The Crow Girl, based on the internationally bestselling novels by author duo Erik Axl Sund, will premiere on the streamer on July 20 in the UK and Ireland. Following the instant success of the first season, Season 2 brings back Eve Myles and Katherine Kelly in the lead roles as DCI Jeanette Kilburn and Dr. Sophia Craven. Buccaneer Media produces the series in association with ITV Studios.

Antti Tuomainen is the winner of the CWA Dagger for Crime Fiction in Translation 2026 for his acclaimed crime novel The Winter Job.

The jury praised the novel with the following citation:

“A down and out father resorts to crime to purchase a piano for Xmas for his estranged offspring and a hilarious road movie into the Northern wilderness ensues, with a cast of bizarre, often grotesque but loveable characters. Hilarious and wonderfully humane.”

Presented by the Crime Writers’ Association (CWA), the Dagger Awards are among Europe’s most prestigious literary honors.

Prime Video has announced a four-part psychological thriller based on Sarek, the bestselling debut novel by Swedish author Ulf Kvensler. Set in the remote Sarek National Park, the story follows a hiking trip that spirals into a deadly nightmare.

The series stars Felix Sandman, Kit Walker Johansson, Alva Bratt and Nora Rios.

The script is written by Måns Herngren, who also serves as director together with Henrik Björn. Sarek is expected to premiere on Prime Video across the Nordic region in 2027.

Norwegian writer-director Nina Knag’s acclaimed feature debut Se meg (Don’t Call Me Mama) has received four nominations for the 2026 Amanda Awards, Norway’s most prestigious film awards.

The film has been nominated for Best Director for Nina Knag, Best Actress in a Leading Role for Pia Tjelta, Best Supporting Actor for Tarek Zayat, and Best Cinematography for Alvilde Horjen Naterstad, highlighting both the film’s artistic achievements and the strength of its performances.

The winners of the 2026 Amanda Awards will be announced during the Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund on August 22.

Season 2 of the acclaimed Franco-Iranian drama series Happiness, created and written by Yashar Alishenas and Pouria Takavar for Arte, has won the Audience Award at Seriencamp 2026, one of Europe’s leading festivals dedicated to television series.

Happiness season 2 had its world premiere at Series Mania, and will have its streaming premiere on Arte on June 29.
