Niklas Natt och Dag’s The Wolf and the Watchman is the winner of the Storytel Award, a Swedish audiobook award, in the category ‘Best Fiction’. The motivation is as follows:

Lars Kepler’s Lazarus wins in the category ‘Best Suspense’ with the motivation:

But even through darkness, the captivating characters are all successfully chiseled forth, and even the peripheral ones come alive. Week 13’s (March 25-31st) Swedish bestseller lists see new and old names lining up at the top. New on the lists is Tom Malmquist, who claims the No. 1 spot on the audio one with All the Air That Surrounds Us. Stefan Ahnhem’s Motive X stays at No. 1 on the paperback list, and is joined by Stina Jackson who features at No. 5 with The Silver Road. Jackson’s debut also comes in at No. 4 on both the audio and e-book lists.

Lars Kepler’s Lazarus stays put at No. 2 in the hardcover category, and Hjorth & Rosenfeldt’s A Higher Justice is No. 3.

The official Swedish bestseller lists for March see Lars Kepler claim the No. 1 spot on the hardcover list with Lazarus. Hjorth & Rosenfeldt follow at No. 2 with A Higher Justice.

The non-fiction list’s No. 1 goes to Leif GW Persson’s memoir, Master Detective Willy: the Story of My Career.

On the paperback list, Stefan Ahnhem’s Motive X comes in at No. 4, and just after it at No. 5 is Stina Jackson’s The Silver Road. Jackson also features at No. 1 on the e-book list, and No. 3 on the audio one. Niklas Natt och Dag’s The Wolf and the Watchman is No. 5 on the e-book list.

Jørn Lier Horst & Thomas Enger’s Death Deserved debuts at No. 3 on the Norwegian weekly paperback bestseller list, heading straight for the top just as it did upon its hardcover publication. Hjorth & Rosenfeldt’s A Higher Justice meanwhile jumps a few placements on the e-book list, coming in at No. 2.

Viaplay has announced its green-lighting of the small screen adaptation of Roslund & Hellström’s internationally bestselling series about Ewert Grens. The TV series will be produced by Miso Film, and be based on four of Roslund & Hellström’s novels, starting with Box 21 for the first season. The series will premiere on Viaplay in 2020.

Box 21 will be directed by award-winning director Mani Maserrat (Modus, Bad Blood) and produced by Sandra Harms (Modus, 438 Days) and Karl Fredrik Ulfung (438 Days). Screenwriters are Dennis Magnusson (Jordskott, 30 Degrees in February), Stefan Thunberg (Wallander, Hunters 2) and Anders Roslund, author of the books.

The cast stars Leonard Terfelt (The Bridge), Mimosa Willamo (Bodom, Karppi) and Simon J. Berger (Modus, Torka aldrig tårar utan handskar).

Bobbie Peers’ award-winning short film To Plant a Flag is now showing at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum as part of their 50th anniversary celebration of the Apollo missions, including the first Moon landing.

Antti Tuomainen’s The Man Who Died and Roslund & Hellström’s Three Seconds have been shortlisted for the Prix du Polar Européen.

The French literary prize Prix du Polar Européen is annually awarded to the best crime or thriller novel by a European author, in translation or in French. The award was launched by the weekly magazine Le Point in 2003.

The award ceremony will take place during the Quais du Polar in Lyon this weekend, an annual crime festival for both literature and film.
