
‘The White Nights’ No. 1 in Denmark
Katrine Engberg’s just published The White Nights is No. 1 on the Danish book retailer Bog & idé’s Top 10 list. It is also No. 1 in the “crime” category.

New author: Tina Mackic
Tina Mackic (b. 1986) is an author, TV producer, screenwriter, and director who previously worked as a reporter and producer on Sveriges Radio. The Summer Shadow has helped shape a whole generation of kids with its tricks since its first appearance on Swedish kids TV in 2016. With the Summer Shadow, Mackic has created a space for children to recognize and face their fears through the beloved character. In 2019, Mackic made her book debut with the scary, beloved character, and it has since performed its shenanigans both on and off screen.
The Summer Shadow and the Water Trick is Mackic’s fifth and latest title in the series about the Summer Shadow.

Kristina Ohlsson, Niklas Natt och Dag and Johan Theorin on the Swedish bestseller lists
Kristina Ohlsson’s The Case of the Weeping Ghost, the fifth book in The Ghost Detectives series, jumps to No. 2 on the official bestseller list for children’s books in Sweden. Niklas Natt och Dag meanwhile appears at No. 4 on the hardcover list with Hope and Destiny, where Johan Theorin’s Scratch Marks lands the No. 5 spot.
‘The Burning Girls’ premieres on Paramount+
Hans Rosenfeldt’s adaptation of CJ Tudor’s bestselling novel The Burning Girls premieres today on Paramount+.
The British thriller series stars Samantha Morton and Ruby Stokes and follows Reverend Jack Brooks and her daughter as they make a fresh start in Chapel Croft, but soon the close-knit community’s dark history begins to reveal itself.
Teaser released for Netflix’s ‘A Nearly Normal Family’
Netflix has released the teaser trailer for the upcoming Swedish crime-drama A Nearly Normal Family, which is based on the bestselling book of the same name by Mattias Edvarsson.
The six-parter is written by Anna Platt and Hans Jörnlind, and directed by Per Hanefjord.
A Nearly Normal Family lands on Netflix November 24.

‘Back in the Day’ No. 1 in Norway
Oliver Lovrenski continues to dominate the Norwegian hardcover list, coming in at No. 1 with Back in the Day. Anders de la Motte meanwhile debuts on the e-book list with his just published The Glass Man, which comes in at No. 5. The Glass Man is the second installment in the Leo Asker series.

‘I May Be Wrong’ voted Book of the Year in South Korea
Björn Natthiko Lindeblad’s international bestseller I May Be Wrong has been voted ‘Book of the Year’ by a wide margin on South Korean top book retailer YES24. It has also been bestowed by an award for ‘Book of the Year’ by Korean platform Bookseed, aimed at teachers and liberians.

‘Lisa – en pusselbit som saknas’ to premiere on SVT
Andreas Öhman’s film One Day All of This Will Be Yours will soon be joined by the documentary Lisa – en pusselbit som saknas on SVT.
One Day All of This Will Be Yours premiered in Swedish theatres early 2023 to fantastic reviews. Recently, the film was released on Netflix and reached a wide audience. For Öhman, the film is a personal story based on real events. Now comes a deep dive into these real events with the documentary which takes us back to the summer of 1994, when nine-year-old Andreas lost his older sister in an accident.
Lisa – en pusselbit som saknas will be released October 15 on SVT Play and October 17 on SVT 1.
