Niklas Natt och Dag continues to feature on the weekly Swedish bestseller lists, and on this week’s lists he makes a double appearance with his 1793. On the e-book list he claims the No. 3 spot, and on the paperback list he comes in at No. 4. Jo Nesbø’s The Thirst is No. 4 on the audiobook list.

Fredrik Backman’s Us Against You makes its debut on the New York Times Bestseller List, coming in at No. 9 on the hardcover list. Us Against You was published in the US just last week.
Pajtim Statovci is the winner of the 2018 Helsinki Writer of the Year Award. The annual award, which is handed out by the Authors Association of Helsinki, is intended to recognize writers whose works present Helsinki in a refreshing and prominent manner.
The jury has the following to say about this year’s winner:
“Pajtim Statovci has introduced new themes and a new point of view into Finnish literature. His narratives are strong and original. Statovci’s use of the Finnish language is rich and his metaphors are pertinent. In his two novels, Pajtim Statovci has created thought-provoking points of view in relation to questions of identity, doing so by focusing on minorities and new citizens. Statovci uses art to demolish categories related to sexual identity and power.
Pajtim Statovci is presently one the most successful Finnish authors internationally. Through his novels, he has made Helsinki known all over the world.”
The thirteenth book in the Detective Agency No. 2 series, Operation Shipwreck, tops yet another monthly children’s bestseller list and comes in at No. 1 also on the May list. The just published The Search for the Castle’s Secret – the fourth activity book in the series – is No. 3.
Anders Roslund’s thrilling Three Hours continues to feature heavily in the top of the official Swedish bestseller lists, and on May’s hardcover list it comes in at No. 2. Niklas Natt och Dag makes a double appearance with his 1793, which is No. 4 on both the paperback and e-book lists. Ulf Lundell’s just published Weekdays claims the No. 5 spot on the e-book list.
Ingar Johnsrud dominates the Norwegian bestseller lists as all three books in his trilogy about Fredrik Beier appear on this week’s lists. The Cross I Bear, just published last week, appears on both the hardcover list and the e-book one, where it comes in at No. 2. As We Fall comes in at No. 4 on the paperback list, and is joined by Those Who Follow two spots further down.
The No. 1 spot on the hardcover list is won by none other than Jørn Lier Horst & Hans Jørgen Sandnes and their just published The Search for the Castle’s Secret, the fourth activity book in the Detective Agency No. 2 series. Just after at No. 2 comes Jo Nesbø’s internationally acclaimed Macbeth. Macbeth also claims the No. 3 spot on the ebook list.
Jørn Lier Horst’s international bestseller The Katharina Code features on the paperback list, where it is No. 2. On the nonfiction list, Hedvig Montgomery’s long-running bestseller Parental Magic stays put at No. 5.
