Ernest Dickerson (The Wire, The Walking Dead) has been attached to direct the CBS All Access’ straight-to-series true-crime drama Interrogation, created by Swedish writer-producer Anders Weidemann in association with John Mankiewicz. Dickerson, who has worked as director of photography on many of Spike Lee’s films including Do The Right Thing and Mo Better Blues, will direct six of Interrogation’s ten episodes and will exec produce the series along with Weidemann, Mankiewicz, Henrik Bastin and Melissa Aouate.

Interrogation will star Kyle Gallner (Outsiders), Kodi Smit-McPhee (X-Men: Apocalypse), Peter Sarsgaard (The Looming Tower) and David Strathairn (Billions) and has a unique structure with nine episodes of the series released to watch in any order with the conclusive season finale released at a later date. Each episode of the series is structured around an interrogation taken directly from the real police case files, with the goal of turning the viewer into a detective.

Simon Stålenhag’s international bestseller The Electric State has been voted 2018’s “Illustrated Book of the Year” by the readers of the Russian online journal Mir Fantastiki. During her career, Swedish screenwriter Mona Masri has worked as a writer, journalist, documentary maker and essayist for major Swedish media such as Dagens Nyheter, Sveriges Television and Sveriges Radio, where she also hosted the culture programs OBS Magasin and P1 Kultur for several years.

In 2018, Masri received an Ingmar Bergman scholarship and was selected by the Swedish Film Institute as one of five Swedish participants in the Nordic Film Lab, a program for upcoming Nordic Filmmakers.

Masri is currently writing the Danish drama series Amal for HBO Nordic. She is also working on her first feature film alongside several other film and TV projects in both Sweden and Denmark.

The official bestseller lists of week 5 (January 28th – February 3rd) see Stina Jackson’s The Silver Road appear at No. 1 on both the paperback and e-book lists. Lars Kepler and Lazarus come in just after Jackson on the e-book list, claiming the No. 2 spot.

Bobbie Peers’ To Plant a Flag has been shortlisted for a 2019 Edda Award in Iceland. The category which To Plant a Flag is nominated in is ‘Best Short Film’.

The Edda Award is an accolade bestowed by The Icelandic Film and Television Academy (Íslensku Kvikmynda- og Sjónvarpsverðlaunin), and is the most prominent film and television award in Iceland. The winning works will be announced at the Edda Festival of 2019, held on February 22 in Austurbæ and broadcast on RÚV, the national public-service broadcasting organization of Iceland.
