The official monthly bestseller lists for July have just been announced, and Jo Nesbø’s Knife grabs the No. 1 spot on the hardcover list, the audio list and the e-book list. Anders Roslund’s novel Knock Knock, published on July 19th, comes in at No. 2 in both hardcover and e-book. Lars Kepler’s Lazarus nabs the No. 5 spot in the hardcover category.
Among this week’s bestsellers is Jo Nesbø’s Knife, the twelfth Harry Hole novel. Nesbø holds the No. 1 spot on the hardcover list and No. 2 in the e-book category. The author duo Jørn Lier Horst & Thomas Enger’s Smoke Screen comes in as No. 3 in e-book and No. 5 in hardcover.
On the paperback list, Stefan Ahnhem’s Motive X, the fourth title in the Fabian Risk series, places as No. 3. Lars Kepler’s Lazarus, the seventh installment in the Joona Linna series, grabs the No. 4 placement. The No. 5 spot sees Jørn Lier Horst’s The Cabin, the second novel in the Cold Case Quartet.
Stina Jackson the winner of 2019’s Glass Key award
Stina Jackson, author of the long-running suspense bestseller The Silver Road, is the winner of this year’s Glass Key award. The highly coveted award, named after the novel The Glass Key by American crime writer Dashiell Hammett, is handed out annually by the members of the Crime Writers of Scandinavia to a crime novel written by a Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, Norwegian or Swedish author. This marks the 28th year and award since the Glass Key’s inception.
The official Swedish bestseller lists for week 30 (the 22nd-28th of July) see Anders Roslund claim top positions in several categories. His crime novel Knock Knock was released in Sweden on 19th of July and went straight to No. 1 on the hardcover list. Roslund also claims No. 1 and No. 2 in audio, as well as No. 1 in e-book. Jo Nesbø comes in at No. 2 in the hardcover category, No. 3 in audio and No. 2 in e-book with Knife, the latest title in the Harry Hole series.
Anders Sparring is a well-established writer of TV series for children and the author of several successful children’s novels. More recently Sparring has moved in the direction of developing and writing for big drama productions, striving for originality, authenticity, and a focus on the people that are often pushed into the background. Sparring is equally passionate about writing comedy; he is himself a celebrated stand-up comedian.
Throughout his career, Sparring has written for many popular TV shows and gained extensive experience in writing for animated series and for dolls. In 2017, he received a Guldbagge nomination for his screenplay The World of Dolores and Gunellen.
Sparring is currently working on the second season of the hit TV series The Hunters, and the film adaptation of the praised Malin Fors series, based on the books by Mons Kallentoft.
