Skjerm barna. Hvordan teknologien tok over barndommen: og hva vi kan gjøre for å ta leken og livet tilbake Unplug Our Children
Non-fiction #
Early morning or late at night, the view stays the same: kids sitting at home, hunched over their screens. The algorithms therein are stealing days and years from what they really need: to play, sleep, move, read, daydream, and, not least, to spend time with others.
Parallel to this, school results are in rapid decline and mental health is deteriorating. We have given our children free access to apps we ourselves can barely handle, and to social media that demands a level of psychological maturity that children haven’t yet developed. We have done so because of the often-heard phrase “the digital world is here to stay.” The only ones seeing a benefit from it, are the tech giants.
But: What doesn’t make our lives or society better, we can choose to forego or change. Unplug Our Children shows how it can be done. Inspiring and wise, Maja Lunde lends hope and courage to those who wish to turn the tide.
