Allt är i rörelse All is in Motion
Ulf Lundell vividly and tenderly depicts the personal calamity, and consequences thereof, of the famous but withdrawn photographer Red. Red has retired and isolated himself from friends and family in a seaside house in southern Sweden. After an offer that he vainly could not refuse he has agreed to assemble an extensive retrospective of his body of work. Paradoxically, Red is determined to leave the past behind, and to find a new way forward for the years that remain. He does what he can to keep the past at bay. But the past is persistent, very persistent.
In All is in Motion, Lundell renders Red’s last attempt at redemption in rich, precise and incessantly entertaining prose, and evokes the atmospheric coastal landscape of southern Sweden.
