Operation Mummy, the twelfth and newest installment in Jørn Lier Horst & Hans Jørgen Sandnes’ Detective Agency No. 2 series, is No. 5 on the official Norwegian bestseller list for fiction, all genres.

Anders Rydell to speak at Library of Congress
Anders Rydell (The Book Thieves, The Looters) has been invited to speak at the Library of Congress in Washington next week, on October 18th. The focus of the lecture will be Rydell’s research into the Nazi’s systematic pillaging of Europe’s libraries – public and private – and the book which Rydell wrote on the subject, The Book Thieves.
The Library of Congress, founded in 1800 by John Addams and Thomas Jeffersson, is the largest library in the world, housing millions of books, recordings, photographs, newspapers, maps and manuscripts in its collections. The Library is the main research arm of the U.S. Congress.
The lecture will be held in the Thomas Jeffersson Building, on October 18th, 3 p.m.

‘End of Summer’ No. 1 in Sweden
Anders de la Motte’s End of Summer is No. 1 on the official Swedish bestseller list for September, in the paperback category. End of Summer is the first installment in de la Motte’s new series of stand-alone suspense novels set in southern Sweden.

‘Eighteen Below Zero’ No. 1 in Norway
Stefan Ahnhem’s Eighteen Below Zero jumps up to No. 1 in its second week on the official Norwegian bestseller list for paperback novels. Eighteen Below Zero is the third installment in the internationally bestselling Fabian Risk series.

Jo Nesbø and Arne Dahl No. 2 in Germany
Jo Nesbø’s The Thirst remains at No. 2 for the third week in a row on Der Spiegel’s bestseller list for hardcover fiction. Arne Dahl’s Hinterlands also keeps its No. 2 spot on the paperback list. This is Hinterlands’ fifth week on the list.

‘Watching You’ and ‘Hinterlands’ on Danish bestseller lists
Arne Dahl’s Watching You and Hinterlands, the first and second installments in the Berger & Blom series, have claimed spots on Danish bestseller lists. At Arnold Busck, Denmark’s biggest book store chain, Hinterlands comes in at No. 5 on the crime fiction list while Watching You is found at No. 7 on the paperback list. At Bog & idé, Denmark’s biggest book retailer, Watching You is No. 1 on the paperback list and Hinterlands takes the No. 6 spot on the fiction list. Hinterlands was published in Denmark just last week.

‘Eighteen Below Zero’ No. 5 in Norway
Stefan Ahnhem’s Eighteen Below Zero has gone straight to No. 5 on the official Norwegian bestseller list for paperbacks. The novel, the third installment in the Fabian Risk series, was published as paperback just last week in Norway.

Jo Nesbø and Arne Dahl No. 2 in Germany
Jo Nesbø’s The Thirst is No. 2 also this week on Der Spiegel’s bestseller list for hardcover fiction. Arne Dahl’s Hinterlands stays at No. 2 on the paperback list as well. This is The Thirst’s second week on the list, and Hinterlands’ fourth.

First scene of ‘Jordskott II’ released
The first scene of Jordskott season two has been released. The season, written by Aron Levander among others, will premiere on October 15, 2017, on Swedish public broadcasting company SVT.

Detective Agency No. 2 film shoot starts today
Today is the first date of shooting for Operation Shadowman, the film based on the immensely popular and No. 1 bestselling Norwegian children’s book series by Jørn Lier Horst & Hans Jørgen Sandnes, Detective Agency No. 2.
The film, which will be based on the book Operation Shadowman, will be produced by Filmkameratene in collaboration with Zefyr Media Fund. Grethe Bøe-Waal, the award-winning scriptwriter and director of Operation Arctic, has written the script and will be directing.
Jørn Lier Horst: “Detective Agency No. 2 and Operation Shadowman is the first thing I’ve written that will be adapted for film. It’s going to be a thrill, but I have great faith in Filmkameratene. It will probably be most thrilling of all for those sitting in the movie theater.”
