Farima Karimi joins Salomonsson Agency
Farima Karimi is a Swedish-Iranian screenwriter and producer based in Stockholm.
Karimi holds a master’s degree in film production from the renowned Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts, and has during her career as a producer worked with documentaries as well as fiction. While working as a producer, Karimi pursued her passion for screenwriting. In 2019, she graduated from the esteemed Alma Löv Script Academy and is currently working on several projects for both film and TV, including a drama series for Yellow Bird and her own feature film.
Karimi was selected for the 2020 networking forum Nordic Film Lab, an exclusive program for up and coming Scandinavian filmmakers, focusing on the artistic processes in filmmaking.
As a producer, Karimi’s latest project is a feature thriller titled Dogborn, which she produces together with Momento Film, and entered with in the talent program STHLM Debut.
Lina Bengtsdotter and Sofia Lundberg nominated for 2020 Prix des Lecteurs
Lina Bengtsdotter and Sofia Lundberg are both nominated for a 2020 Prix des Lecteurs du Livre de Poche in France. Bengtsdotter’s For the Missing is one of three books in the running for the ‘crime & thriller’ category’s award, while Lundberg’s novel The Red Address Book is nominated in the ‘literary’ category. Readers will have until the end of the month to vote for a finalist that will then compete in the grand finale in September.

‘Tales From the Loop’ to premiere April 3
Tales From the Loop, the TV series based on Simon Stålenhag’s debut work of the same title, along with its sequel Things From the Flood, will premiere worldwide on Amazon Prime April 3.
Accompanying the announcement of the official release date is the above series trailer, as well as key art created by Simon Stålenhag himself.
The series Tales From the Loop will explore the town and people who live above “The Loop,” a machine built to unlock and explore the mysteries of the universe – making things possible that were previously relegated only to science fiction. In this fantastical mysterious town poignant human tales are told that bare universal emotional experiences while drawing on the intrigue of genre storytelling.
The show stars Rebecca Hall (Vicky Cristina Barcelona), Paul Schneider (Parks and Recreation), Daniel Zolghadri (Eighth Grade), Duncan Joiner (Waco) and Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes, Game of Thrones).

The weekly Swedish bestseller lists
Katrine Engberg’s The Tenant debuts on the official Swedish bestseller lists for paperbacks this week, claiming the No. 1 spot right from the start. Engberg is joined on the list by Jo Nesbø, whose long-running bestseller Knife is No. 3 this time.
Niklas Natt och Dag meanwhile comes in at No. 1 on the hardcover list with 1794, which is also No. 4 on the e-book list. The first book in his Cardell & Winge series, The Wolf and the Watchman, is No. 2 in e-book.
Concluding the round-up with the children’s books list, we find Kristina Ohlsson’s The Mystery of the Haunted Fortress featuring at No. 4.

Niklas Natt och Dag No. 2 in Spain
For the fifth week in a row, Niklas Natt och Dag’s The Wolf and the Watchman features on the Spanish bestseller list for fiction. The title once again claims the No. 2 spot.
The weekly Norwegian bestseller lists
Jørn Lier Horst & Hans Jørgen Sandnes’ Operation Trickster climbs a spot on the Norwegian bestseller list for hardcovers, landing at No. 2 in week 8. Horst grabs another No. 2 placement together with Thomas Enger and their co-written Smoke Screen, the second installment in the Blix & Ramm series.
Meanwhile on the nonfiction list, Frida Ramstedt makes her debut with Make Yourself at Home: The Ultimate Guide to Interior Decorating. The guide comes in at No. 6.

Kristoffer Metcalfe joins Salomonsson Agency
Norwegian writer and director Kristoffer Metcalfe is with his extensive experience from the film and TV industry perhaps most known for his success TV series, Twin (2019).
Metcalfe graduated from The Norwegian Film School in 2008, after which he went on to direct several acclaimed shorts. He made his directorial debut in 2011 with the Norwegian comedy feature, Cupid’s Balls, a film packed with humor, romantic summer nights, and intense conflicts. Metcalfe also has a background in creative production and development production.
Metcalfe is the creator, writer and director behind the celebrated Norwegian drama series Twin, starring Kristofer Hivju, known for his role in HBO’s Game of Thrones. Twin had its world premiere at Series Mania, is sold to over 46 countries, and was awarded third place at Prix Europa for ‘Best European TV Fiction’.

‘When the Doves Disappeared’ acquired by SF Studios
This weekend, SF Studios announced that it will be the Nordic distributor of the upcoming film adaption of Sofi Oksanen's bestselling novel When the Doves Disappeared. Cinematic Inc. will produce the feature, with Antti J. Jokinen attached to direct.
When the Doves Disappeared is a story of occupation, resistance, and collaboration in Estonia during and after World War II, when the boundaries and power structures of Europe changed dramatically. Oksanen’s novel traces these changes as seen through the eyes and lives of one Estonian family.

Niklas Natt och Dag maintains a steady hold of the No. 2 position on the Spanish official bestseller list, which he first nabbed three weeks ago with his debut novel The Wolf and the Watchman. The novel also features at No. 5 on the Catalan equivalent.
