Viktor Åkerblom joins Salomonsson Agency

With over 25 years in the film industry, Viktor Åkerblom is a seasoned actor, renowned in both Scandinavian and international cinema.

Åkerblom has just completed filming a regular part in a major American production, set to premiere early 2024.

Other recent achievements include the upcoming feature Arthur the King, in which he acts alongside Mark Wahlberg.

Previously, Åkerblom has made notable performances in the Cannes-winning and Oscar-nominated feature Border (2018), TV thriller series Agent Hamilton (2020), highly appreciated TV comedy Solsidan (2021) childrens’ favourite LasseMajas detektivbyrå (2021), TV series Familjen Andersson (2023) and feature Mareld (2019) which Åkerblom also produced.

Additionally, Åkerblom is recognized as one of Sweden’s top voice talents, presenting his voice to numerous projects, including over 150 audiobooks. Nevertheless, Åkerblom is a physical actor with a lot of experience in making his own stunts and as a motion capture actor.

Jørn Lier Horst and Hans Jørgen Sandnes awarded the Teskjekjerring Award

Jørn Lier Horst and Hans Jørgen Sandnes have been awarded the Teskjekjerring Award for their bestselling series The Detective Agency No. 2, with the jury motivation: “This year’s recipients have made an invaluable contribution to the love of reading among Norwegian children. The duo’s book series has sold over three million copies in Norway alone.”

The Teskjekjerring Award is part of the Alf Prøysen Honorary Awards, which were founded in the name of Norwegian poet, author, and singer Alf Prøysen. The Prøysen Award and the Teskjekjerring Award have been awarded annually since 1974 for outstanding efforts in one of the fields in which Prøysen himself was active. The Teskjekjerring Award places special emphasis on art aimed toward children.

‘Back in the Day’ No.1 in Norway

Oliver Lovrenski’s awarded and highly praised debut, Back in the Day, takes back the No.1 spot on the official Norwegian best seller list this week. The title is also on its 7th reprint, a mere two months after publication.

‘A Nearly Normal Family’ to premiere on Netflix

The much awaited Swedish crime-drama A Nearly Normal Family premieres globally on Netflix November 24, and has already received great reviews. 

The series is based on Mattias Edvardsson’s best-selling novel of the same name. Anna Platt and Hans Jörnlind are the series’ writers, with Per Hanefjord directing.

‘I Will Find the Key’ No. 2 in Sweden

Alex Ahndoril’s recently published I Will Find the Key, the first installment in the Key series, shoots to No. 2 on the official Swedish bestseller list for hardcover this week.

Oliver Lovrenski awarded the 2023 Booksellers’ Prize

Oliver Lovrenski has just been announced as the winner of the Norwegian Booksellers’ Prize (Bokhandlerprisen) for ‘Best Book of the Year’. His debut novel, Back in the Day, has topped the bestseller list since publication, received raving reviews, and is hailed as an exceptional, outstanding literary debut.

The Bookseller Prize was awarded by the Minister of Culture, Lubna Jaffery, on November 14 at Litteraturhuset in Oslo. Director of the Booksellers Association, Anne Schiøtz, said the following: “The novel Back in the Day is simply a thunderous debut of the rarest kind, and has taken both booksellers and readers by storm.”

Oliver Lovrenski is the youngest author to ever win the prize.

‘The Surge’ Published in Iceland

A skeleton, which appears to have been buried in the ground for many years, is found and exhumed at a recycling center in Reykjavík. Police officers Týr and Karó are not assigned to the case but are asked to assist in a neighbor dispute that has entered hellish territory. Before long, they find themselves involved in a murder case after the conflict takes a deadly turn.

Meanwhile, Gunndís, a young female cook, takes a temporary job onboard a large fishing ship, following in her late father’s footsteps. When she finds a book that belonged to him that should be at the bottom of the sea, she begins to fear that someone on board has it in for her.

Although Týr and Karó do not realize it to begin with, the events are all linked through a horrible accident, many years ago, when a trawler caught on fire and sank to the depths of the ocean with the crew trapped inside.
