Kristina Ohlsson and her two children’s book series the Monster Trilogy and the Glass Children Trilogy have been shortlisted for the second annual Crimetime Specsavers Award. The category is ‘Children’s Crime Fiction of the Year’ and the award will be handed out in connection with the Crimetime festival held on the island of Gotland, Sweden, on August 5th. The shortlisted authors have all contributed to increasing children’s interest in reading by writing suspense or crime fiction for ages 6-12.

Bobbie Peers’ William Wenton and the Luridium Thief is the winner of 2017’s Bokslukerprisen in Norway. The award, arranged by the Foreningen !les association, recruited the help of five young jury groups in deciding the winning book. The 6th grade jury members chose Bobbie Peers’ debut children’s book and the first installment in the William Wenton series as their winner.

A Man Called Ove, Fredrik Backman’s international sensation, comes in at No. 5 on the New York Times Best Seller List this week. This marks the 68th consecutive week for the novel on the list. On the combined print and eBook list, A Man Called Ove is No. 8.

Jo Nesbø’s I Am Victor has been acquired by Fredrik Wikström Nicastro at SF Studios, who will produce the project together with Icelandic director and producer Baltasar Kormákur for RVK Studios. Kormákur (Everest, Contraband, 2 Guns) is also attached to direct and James Bond screenwriters Neal Purvis and Robert Wade are adapting the screenplay. Jo Nesbø and Niclas Salomonsson are Executive Producers on the project.
Purvis and Wade have been the 007’s go-to scriptwriters going back to 1999’s The World Is Not Enough. Their last feature collaboration was on 2015’s Spectre, and they are thought to be reteaming on Bond 25.

I Am Victor is an upcoming novel by Jo. It’s a thriller about a skilled but morally corrupt and narcissistic divorce attorney. When he finds himself framed for a series of brutal murders, he embarks on his own investigation to find the killer.
