Norwegian writer and director Kristoffer Metcalfe is with his extensive experience from film and TV perhaps most known for his success TV series, Twin (2019).
Metcalfe graduated from the Norwegian Film School in 2008, after which he went on to direct several acclaimed shorts. He made his directorial debut in 2011 with the Norwegian comedy feature, Cupid’s Balls, a film packed with humor, romantic summer nights, and intense conflicts. Metcalfe also has a background in creative production and development production.
Metcalfe is the creator, writer and director behind the celebrated Norwegian drama series Twin, starring Kristofer Hivju, known for his role in HBO’s Game of Thrones. The story focuses on identical twin brothers Erik and Adam, who live completely different lives. When the two get into a fight, Adam’s wife Ingrid tries to intervene and accidentally kills her husband. To cover up the crime and save his brother’s family, Erik assumes Adam’s identity. Twin had its world premiere at Series Mania, is sold to over 46 countries, and was awarded third place at Prix Europa for ‘Best European TV Fiction’.

Mord i Sogn / Sogn Murders is a four-part crime drama series adapted from the best-selling novels by Norwegian author Jørgen Jæger.
The series follows police investigator Ole Vik (Kristofer Hivju) and his colleague Cecilie Hopen (Eili Harboe) as they solve complex criminal cases in the fictional village of Fjellberghavn, located in the scenic Sogn region of Norway. Beneath the area’s breathtaking landscapes lies a darker reality, where secrets, tension, and crime disrupt the seemingly peaceful community.
The series is created and directed by Kristoffer Metcalfe, who also co-wrote the scripts alongside Kathrine Valen Zeiner.
Mord i Sogn premieres March 19 on TV2 Norway.
