The first episode of Ronja the Robber’s Daughter, one of the biggest endeavors in Nordic television to date, premiers today on Netflix.

The classic Astrid Lindgren adventure about the strong and independent girl Ronja took the whole world by storm when the book was published over 40 years ago and in total, an astonishing eleven million copies of the book have been sold globally. Now, with Hans Rosenfeldt’s adaptation for the screen, viewers are given a deeper insight into Ronja’s world. The story remains the same but is embellished and adapted for today’s audience with grand special effects, beautiful scenery, and more developed characters and settings.

The series is divided into two parts with a total of twelve 45-minute episodes and stars Kerstin Linden, Christopher Wagelin, Sverrir Gudnason, Pernilla August, Johan Ulveson and Maria Nohra, among others.

SF Studios has announced that a new feature film about The JerryMaya Detective Agency will premiere in movie theaters this fall. The movie is based on Martin Widmark and Helena Willis’ exceptionally popular book series of the same name, now featuring a new, adventurous mystery.

Tina Mackic is once again set to direct, and Maria Nohra can be found among the cast members, playing a significant role.

Filming for The JerryMaya Detective Agency – The Mascot Who Disappeared will begin in March, and the premiere date has been set to October 2024.

Today, Netflix announced that one of the most beloved stories in Sweden, Astrid Lindgren’s world-famous story Ronja the Robber’s Daughter, is coming to Netflix in 2024.

The Swedish-language show is written by Hans Rosenfeldt and directed by Lisa James Larsson and follows the adventures of a young girl born into a band of robbers in a medieval Scandinavian fortress. As Ronja grows up, she learns that the surrounding forest can be a magical and sometimes dangerous place filled with strange creatures. But when Ronja befriends the young boy Birk from a rival band, a vicious family feud ignites. Ronja and Birk flee into the forest and try to survive on their own.
