Marianne and Elisabeth are both doctors at the same cardiac clinic. When Elisabeth gets the job as chief physician, Marianne rediscovers her abandoned research – a genus comparative study on how female cardiac patients are treated by the hospital. About a Heart explores the differences between the female and male symptoms of a heart attack, and how they were discovered.
